CoSA Framework for Emergency Preparedness

 

The most current versions of the Framework components, are available on the CoSA website at

http://www.statearchivists.org/prepare/framework/index.htm


The following documents comprise the package that was mailed

to each state archivist and records manager on Wednesday, June 14.

  1. Cover memo outlining the goals of the CoSA Emergency Preparedness Initiative

    and the tasks we are asking each state archives and records management

    program to complete in the next three months.

  2. “11 Lessons that Katrina Taught Me,” an article written by CoSA President David Carmicheal

    after visiting Mississippi in September 2005 which articulates the realities that archives and

    records managers face during disaster recovery.

  3. Implementing the CoSA Framework for Emergency Preparedness in Your State,

    a manual that provides guidance for completing the Assessment and PReP documents.

  4. Assessment of Emergency Preparedness for State Archives and Records Management Programs.

    Each state archives and records management program is asked to complete this form

    and return to CoSA __no later than July 21, 2006__.

  5. A template for the Pocket Response Plan (PReP) document in both Microsoft Word and PDF formats.

    Each state archives and records management program is asked to prepare its own PReP documents and

    send an example to CoSA __by September 1, 2006__.
